During these hot, summer months, Palmetto Dunes guests can now escape the heat by heading indoors to On the Mark Archery’s air-conditioned range, located at 5 Trent Jones Lane next to the resort’s Robert Trent Jones clubhouse. The New England-based organization is renowned for its professional mobile archery classes, events and corporate team-building sessions for individuals and groups to enjoy. The entire family will undoubtedly find this activity refreshing and engaging.
And, of course, neighboring Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina is a Mediterranean-style marina featuring shopping and dining, and also home to a wide variety of charters including nature cruises, dolphin tours, sport crabbing and fishing.
Yet, exemplary golf has always been the cornerstone of the Palmetto Dunes Resort family vacation experience. All three of the resort’s golf courses — each one distinctively different and uniquely appealing — have named the South Carolina Golf Course of the Year.
Palmetto Dunes welcomes golfers of all ages and abilities — in other words, every member of your family. The Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy tees up lessons and daily clinics from PGA professionals designed for juniors, seniors and ladies alike, as well as specialized programs such as individual and family lessons and clinics, all under the direction of former PGA Tour player Doug Weaver, Palmetto Dunes’ highly respected Director of Instruction. The golf school includes a video analysis sent by email, on-course instruction, rules and etiquette lessons, the school’s video lending library, take-home materials, free range privileges, plus nine holes of golf daily on a space-available basis.
Weaver heads a staff of outstanding PGA Class A professionalsaveraging almost two decades of instruction, who provide hands-on instruction to golfers with proficiency and expertise.
