Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort was recently honored by Marinalife Magazine. The resort was one of just 12 destinations highlighted among the most desirable places to dock along the east coast.
Published quarterly, Marinalife Magazine is a lifestyle publication featuring cruising stories, marina and waterfront destinations articles, as well as a directory of discounts and specials available to Marinalife members.
The article, titled “Waterfront Golf Courses on the Atlantic Coast,” appears in the June 2021 issue of Marinalife.
“From New England’s northern harbors down to Florida’s southern shores you find world-class, championship-level golf courses that boast high-end designs, polished greens and stunning waterfront views,” wrote Marinalife.
“The following list presents golf resorts and courses that honor the sport’s rich history and genteel culture. With the arrival of warm weather and desire for oceanfront breezes, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to 18 holes at an upscale golfing getaway or consider a membership at one of these summertime destinations.”
Palmetto Dunes proudly took its place on the list along with other prestigious coastal enclaves, including Fishers Island Club in Fishers Island, New York, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, which hosted this year’s PGA Championship, Omni Amelia Island Golf Resort in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Sea Island Golf Performance Center & Resort on Sea Island, Georgia and Seminole Golf Club on Juno Beach, Florida, host site for this year’s Walker Cup.
About Palmetto Dunes, Marinalife wrote: “For more than a half-century, the world-class golf courses at Palmetto Dunes have been a crown jewel of Hilton Head Island. The beachside resort is packed with everything an outdoor enthusiast could desire: three championship courses, tennis, pickleball, biking, fishing and more. Choose courses from renowned designers including the Robert Trent Jones course, where a lagoon winds its way through half of the holes, the challenging George Fazio course guarded by bunkers and water hazards, or the Arthur Hills course, regarded as one of South Carolina’s most unique layouts.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Thank you, Marinalife Magazine, for another nice feather for the Palmetto Dunes cap.
